Encinitas Branch Library
Encinitas, California
  • This new 25,000 square foot library site is conducive to a building that will embrace the fabulous view, climate and sun angles of the area.  The library will be a one-story contemporary design employing natural materials such as wood beams, bead-blasted concrete, stone ledger walls, and copper metal roofing.  All west-facing glass is shaded and non-reflective.  The shapes of the library are reminiscent of barrel vaults and ocean waves and present as few sharp edges as possible.  Thoughtful water-converving landscaping complementing the local species is planned.
  • Services provided include intial budget preparation, Proposition 14 Round 2 submittal, contractor selection, design and construction management and furnishings acquisition.
